Heroes Day 184 - Legend
Posted on Sat, 04 Jul 2009 00:54:45 by Sean Thornton

Character Image

She claims to be the living basis for many heroic women of mythology, i.e. the Amazons, the goddesses Nike and Artemis, and the heroine Atlanta and heaven help those that say she isn’t. She has incredible strength, speed, stamina and agility and is a near unparalleled hand to hand combatant, having fought to a standstill or defeated the likes of Leo-9, Hunter Cross, Lioness, and even a half dozen Poly-Flesh copies of herself created by the Wax Wizard. She also seems more than adept with about any weapon you want to hand her. Anything from a P-52 fighter to a battle-axe. Though the mythology claims may be spurious, she is certainly long-lived if not potentially immortal, seeing as how photos with Legend in them have appeared in the effects of Manuel Solinas (Pistola), Chapman Campbell (Cheshire), Archer Ingram, Chester McCormick (Red Wraith), and Sage Sinclair and Sky Lark, at varying points in their lives without seeming to have aged a day. Legend is still active today as part of the Guardians.

Heroes Day 182 - Snowcat
Posted on Wed, 01 Jul 2009 22:56:01 by Sean Thornton

Character Image

Emily St. Clair was born to a Wyoming ranching family and discovered early on that she had abilities unlike anyone else. She became an add agency exec not long after college, and never really giving her abilities much thought until a friends young son was kidnapped and ransomed, Emily created a crude disguise and the female superhero of Snowcat began her career. Her abilities are resistance to extremes of temperature (particularly extreme cold) as well as having incredible fighting and tracking abilities.  Sean Black, Shadow Blast, once she joined the Watch, also constructed for her a pair of powerful gauntlet/gloves that enhanced her strength and had retractable claws able to slice through surgical steel and concrete like paper.  She was a close friend of Raider and was engaged to her teammate Blitzer. Agent Blue killed her during the brutal massacre of the Watch in the guise of Blue Star that lead to the teams dissolution.

Heroes Day 181 - Kiss Kiss
Posted on Tue, 30 Jun 2009 23:40:34 by Sean Thornton

The lady agent with the lethal lipstick, Kiss Kiss is the woman "they" call when someone absolutely, positively needs to be taken out post haste. From despot dictators to terror group leaders, she's seen it all. Along with her amazing martial arts skills and covert ops training, Kiss Kiss wears a highly volatile chemical compound. As long as it is in contact with an ultra-thin layer of protective material on her lips, it remains inert. However, when she kisses a person, object, etc. and leaves her mark, the results are (literally) explosive. Kiss Kiss has also been known to carry capsules of invisible, ordorless powder she uses to "blow kisses" to (and melt through) anything from solid steel doors to heavy armor worn by a foe.

Heroes Day 180 - Spectra
Posted on Mon, 29 Jun 2009 23:27:09 by Sean Thornton

Character Image

Gwendolyn Anders became the female hero Spectra, able to shift her physical mass into light and energy at will allowing her flight abilities of astounding speeds over long distances and gave her an intangible form immune to nearly all physical blows or she could 'solidify' her light form to seem as normal as anyone else. Her powers were gained through a lab accident of a teleportation device being demonstrated by Professor Dash Gallant (a.k.a. Mr. Mighty) to whom she was assisting (and was having an affair with at the time). The accident broke down her physical form but never fully reintegrated it to convert it back to human again. She then went about trying to, and succeeding at, joining the World Protectorate Agency  (WPA) by aiding them against an early battle with Mar Torath and his Pack.

Villains Day 179 - Chirp
Posted on Mon, 29 Jun 2009 00:05:25 by Sean Thornton

Punk rock super-star Chirp possesses the disturbing ability to influence the mood of anyone who listens to her music. The effects only last for as long as one listens to her influential voice, but said influence is nearly unbreakable during that time. Chirp delights in chaos and destruction, and only joined the Malevolent Eleven when authorities finally connected the latest rash of worldwide violence to her new single "Burn this Place Down". Now Chirp uses her voice (in person or on well-placed playback devices) for the purpose of subversion and to pave the way for her team's goals.

Villains Day 178 - Lioness
Posted on Sun, 28 Jun 2009 01:14:39 by Sean Thornton

Character Image

Female Golden Age villainess, Lioness was an oft enemy of Gauntlet. She seemed as intent on convincing Gauntlet to join her as she was to robbery and theft. She had the power and speed of her big cat namesake and powerful claws built into the fingertips of her gloves. She also claimed to be a priestess devoted to Circe and the arts of black magic. Considering some of the feats she had managed in combat, it may have actually been true. After the end of World War II Lioness would seem to have disappeared. Though if someone is following in her footsteps it would not be surprising.

Villains Day 177 - Androgeny
Posted on Fri, 26 Jun 2009 23:29:26 by Sean Thornton

Strike a pose. Vogue!

Confusing and frustrating male and female heroes alike, Androgeny operates under the assumption that when all symbols of "male" and "female" are destroyed, the world will find peace. Though this might be seen as a well-meaning, perhaps even benevolent motive, Androgeny's habit of assassinating over-muscled male sports stars and ransoming female centerfold models does little to help the cause. Any overt display of archaic gender roles is considered an affront. Androgeny is a master (or mistress?) of walking the line between genders, right down to a neither-here-nor-there voice. Just when crimefighters think they know the score, they realize they still have no clue. Androgeny's cold, calculating mind and complete anonymity allow for plenty of room to plot, plan, and enact grand schemes. Many contests of will have ended with Androgey simply disappearing into a crowd.
